Medicare Cover Flu Shots-

Medicare Cover Flu Shots Part B (Medical Insurance) covers one flu shot per flu season.

Your Costs–

If Original Medicare is your primary payer, you pay nothing for a flu shot if your doctor or other qualified healthcare provider accepts the assignment for giving the shot. You can also get the shot if you have a Medicare Advantage Plan. Most plans will cover the shot, but it is advisable to check with your plan first prior to getting the shot.

Pneumococcal Shots-

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers pneumococcal shots (Vaccines) at no cost under Original Medicare. Medicare will cover the Single Dose or 2 Dose Series Once Per Lifetime. If your coverage is with a Medicare Advantage Plan, you may need to use an in-network provider for the vaccine to be covered.

Shingles Shots-

Medicare Parts A(Hospital) and Part B(Medical) do not have the Shingles Shot. You can get coverage for your Shingles Shot through your Part D Prescription Drug Plan. Also, if you are getting coverage through a Medicare Advantage Plan, most have a Part D Drug Plan included. In 2023, if your Part D Plan covers the Shingles Vaccine, there will be no cost sharing.
