Unlimited Vision Of Medicare doesn’t cover eye exams (sometimes called “eye refractions”) for eyeglasses or contact lenses. Your Cost share is 100%. However, there are Medicare Advantage plans that offer dental plans.
Medicare does give coverage for the following:
Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers eye exams for diabetic retinopathy once yearly if you have diabetes. The exam must be done by an eye doctor who is legally allowed to do the test in your state.
You pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount for your doctor’s services; the Part B deductible applies. In a hospital outpatient setting, you pay a copayment.
If Vision Coverage is important, talk to your Medicare Advisor about which plan with Dental would work best for you.
