Enrolling In Medicare

Jul 29, 2022 | 0 comments

Enrolling in Medicare is not something to be taken lightly. If an individual is currently covered by an employer with over 20 employees, then they don’t have to sign up. If their employer has lass than 20 employees then they must enroll in both Medicare Part A and Part B. Those that don’t have to enroll in Medicare sign up for Part A Hospital coverage because they have worked and paid in for more than 10 years and for them it will be Free. They delay signing up for Part B to avoid the Monthly Premium( $164.50 in 2023) and wait until they retire. It is always a good idea to consult with your Medicare Advisor to compare costs. Sometimes signing up for Medicare actually saves money. If you are collecting Social Security when turning 65, you will be automatically enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B. If covered by an employer(With over 20 Employees) it may be necessary to disenroll from Part B to avoid the monthly premium. Signing up for Medicare is relatively easy.
